Cranberry Red Mead has a light salmon colour. This mead is made from a blend of cranberry, red currant and honey.
Delicate aromas of cranberry fill your glass with undertones of red currant and warm honey. This dry mead has cranberry flavours with rich honey and notes of red currant.
The flavours and aromas are very clean which speaks volumes to the quality of this fermented creation. It has a crisp, tart finish that lingers in your mouth for several minutes.
This mead has 13% alcohol and is packaged in a 750 ml bottle.
Although the mead maker suggests you mix this as a spritzer, I recommend that you first try it with a summer meal so you can experience all of the wonderful flavours this mead has to offer.
Pair with pasta made with garlic, olive oil and swiss chard. Also wonderful with grilled veggies. Or sip on its own on a summer evening.
This style is traditionally known as a Melomel because it is made from honey and fruit. However it is important to note that depending on the fruit base used, certain melomels may also be known by more specific names. For example cyser is made with apples, pyment is made with red or white grapes and moray is made with mulberries.
