Georgian Hills Vineyards is located near the Georgian Bay in the township of Blue Mountains, Ontario. The property was previously a working apple orchard. Most of the apple trees have been replaced with vineyards. The old bunk house has been remade into a visitor centre and office space. It is a very well done repurposing of the building.
You will find a large tasting room with all of their wines and ciders along the walls for retail sale. There is a lovely, large outdoor patio with seasonal tasting bar overlooking the vineyards. The staff is inviting, friendly and knowledgeable. They are ready to help you find the products you are looking for and assist you in tasting them.
There are several food pairing options available. Wines and ciders are available by the taste or glass. The visitor centre is clean, sunny and bright. There is a large special events area nestled in the vineyards for large groups and special occasions.
The winemaker is Lindsay Puddicombe. Lindsay graduated from Guelph viticulture school and then later from the Niagara College for winemaking. She is also the winemaker for her family business in Winnona, Ontario, Puddicombe Estate Farms and Winery.
This is a great stop and one you should not miss if you are in the area.
