Cherries 'N Chocolate

Cherries 'N Chocolate is a very interesting dessert wine style, made from sour cherries infused with chocolate. This wine has a dark orange colour and subtle aromas of cherries with a hint of chocolate.

The real story here is in the flavour which brings together the intensity of sour cherries and dark chocolate into a creamy, elegant, will structured, dessert wine.

This wine is packaged in 375 ml resealable bottle with 11% alcohol.

The winemaker states that this wine is Black Forest cake in a bottle, and I would take that a step further to say you can also taste chocolate covered cherries.

Canadian Maple

Archibald's Canadian Maple has a very elegant colour and aromas reminiscent of a fine liquor. The intense, refined, maple aroma is mingled with rich maple sweetness and spice.

The sophisticated maple flavour follows through, giving this dessert wine a unique, upscale character. It has a nice balance and long, pleasing finish.

Packaged in 375 ml resealable bottle, this wine has 10.6% alcohol.

The winemaker recommends you serve this delightful wine slightly chilled, and I would agree. However, do allow it to warm in your glass so you can experience all of the changes.

Royal Raspberry

Archibald's Royal Raspberry has a lovely raspberry colour with aromas of fresh raspberries and vanilla. And although it has a forward raspberry flavour, this flavour is masked by an overwhelming amount of sweetness.

This is a style may people will love, but I would like to see more structure.

It is packaged in a 375 ml resealable bottle and has 11.3% alcohol.

Apple Cranberry

This apple cranberry wine has a balanced structure with good acidity and just the right amount of sweetness to bring out the fruit flavours.

I am not sure when this one was bottled, but it seems to be showing a bit of age in the colour, being dark salmon with a touch of brown. It has a nice cranberry aroma with a bit of tobacco leaf and subtle notes of apple.

There are crisp cranberry flavours with soft apple accents and a crisp finish.

This wine is packaged in 750 ML bottle with 10.6% alcohol.

As with most fruit and other wines, I like to taste them at cellar temperature, so I can experience all of the flavours and aromas. If you choose to chill this one, it will be very refreshing and could be served over ice or blended as a cocktail.

Sweet Peach

Sweet Peach

Sweet Peach is made from naturally ripened peaches blended with crisp apples. The end results is an amazing marriage of flavours, with good balance.

This wine has a golden colour and aromas of fresh cut peaches, vanilla and wildflowers reminiscent of a summers day. The blend of apples and peaches gives this wine great structure. It has a smooth, yet full flavour of freshly baked peach pie, vanilla and spice, with just the right amount of sweetness to give this wine a long lingering finish.

And although the winemaker recommends you serve this wine chilled, I recommend you serve it at room temperature so you can experience all of the flavours and aromas this wine has to offer.

Honey Crisp

When first opened this wine gives off a bit of a farmyard aroma. But don't let that detour you from allowing this wine to breath a bit in the glass. Although this wine is not for everybody, some feel that a farmyard aroma gives the wine authenticity. This can also be considered problematic.

On tasting there is a trace of acidity, light pear flavours mingled with fleshy apple and a slightly off dry finish.

This wine has a light straw colour and is packaged in 750 ML resealable bottle. It has 11% alcohol.

If you choose to try this style, I would recommend that you aerate the wine by decanting or other method before serving.

Ruby

Ruby Strawberry Rhubarb

Ruby is a still Strawberry Rhubarb wine. It has an amber orange colour and aromas of spring rhubarb and fresh summer strawberries that waft out of the glass with hints of apple and vanilla.

The delicate sweetness of strawberries and subtle notes of apple, balanced with the crisp acidity of rhubarb, give this wine intense flavours and style. It is truly a quintessential summer fruit wine.

It is packaged in a 750 ml resealable bottle and has 10% alcohol.

Although the winemaker suggests you serve this wine chilled, I recommend that you serve it at room temperture so you can experience and enjoy all of the amazing flavours and aromas this gem has to offer.

Canadian Kiwi

This amazing, dry white table wine, is made from locally grown kiwi fruit blended with apples. It has a golden straw colour and a delicate tropical fruit aroma with hints of lime and vanilla.

You will find flavours of apple and mixed citrus, with a blast of tropical fruit followed by a crisp, clean finish. The intensity of tropical fruit flavours gives this dry wine a perceived sweetness.

It is packaged in a resealable 750 ml bottle and has 11% alcohol. This is an excellent food wine.

I really like the bold nature of this blend as a dry table wine. Hats off to Fred Archibald for another fabulous first in fruit wine creation.

Hard Core Sparkling Cider

Hard Core Sparkling Cider

Hard Core has a light straw colour and farm apple aromas reminiscent of dry English ciders. It has crisp, tart apple and citrus flavours with a medium finish.

This refreshing cider is packaged in a 750 ml sparkling wine bottle. It has 8% alcohol.

I am a great fan of this style. Its bone dry nature really speaks to its name, Hard Core. If you are a lover of dry sparkling wines, you are sure to love this cider.
