Listen:

Applewood Farm Winery's Apple Jack has a dark caramel colour with aromas of smokey baked apples, vanilla and spice.

It has intense baked apple flavours with complex tannins showcasing heavily charred oak, with notes of cinnamon and vanilla. This Applejack is sweet, well balanced and has a long, smooth, lingering, finish.

This amazing representation of modern Applejack is a must try. Bottled from a small batch that was aged for four years in French and American oak barrels, this Applejack is sure to please the most discerning palate.

With 21% alcohol, it is packaged in a 750 ml whisky bottle, complete with waxed covered stopper and an old-time label design that would make this Applejack a wonderful gift. But don't wait, contact Applewood Farm Winery right away as this one will not last and is going fast.

2005 Black Forest Cherry

Listen:

This very special wine is made with iced black cherries infused with chocolate. As the name suggests, you will find a ruby red colour and rich aromas of sweet black cherries and dark chocolate, reminiscent of Black Forest Cake.

This wine is truly decadent with intense flavours of cherry syrup, and dry dark chocolate. It is packaged in an attractive 375 ml bottle and has 13% alcohol.

This amazing wine has great structure and can be aged for many years. I recommend you pick up several bottles from each available vintage and allow then to mature. You will be very glad you did.

2011 Evan’s Black Currant Port

Listen:

This Gold Medal Winner is a port style fruit wine that is made from fresh Black Currants.

Let me just say, it is incredible. Everything about this wine is massive from the inviting dark colour to the intense flavour to the generous aromas. It screams fresh Black Currants. This is a very sweet dessert wine (10), with amazing balance. It is literally mouth-watering.

It is fortified to 18% alcohol and is packaged in an elegant Bordeaux style 750 ml bottle. The label is inviting and whimsical. I will leave it up to you to ask the winemaker who is in the photo.

Serve this unsung hero at room temperature, and take the time to sip it slowly so you can thoroughly enjoy this amazing wine.

It is available at the winery retail store. I highly recommend that you buy some every year as these rare finds are vintage dated and are sure to please with subtle vintage variations.

Crazy Eight Cider

Crazy Eight Cider

Listen:

This fantastic sparkling cider is made with a blend of Ontario apples and Royal Raspberries. The Raspberries, last I checked, are from Andrews' Scenic Acres in Milton and the apples are from the Applewood Farm Winery. I really like this blend. It is reminiscent of Andy's Original Royal Raspberry Cider.

The raspberries give this cider an intense ruby colour and a lovely full raspberry aroma. I can also detect red candy apple and hints of cinnamon. This cider feels great in your mouth as it dances down your tongue. It is an off dry cider with just a touch of sweet jam.

There is a well balanced structure and alcohol content of 8.8%. Packaged in a dark brown, longneck 500 ml bottle it looks like it has been hand-painted, although I am sure it is just very good bottle printing.

The cider maker, Matthew Passafiume, is a master at his craft. His expertise and care have made this an outstanding product each year it is made.
